"Man Wax for CanTeen" fundraising event
The Wellington Campus attended the Man Wax for Canteen event on Wednesday 20th September.
CanTeen's mission is to support, develop and empower young people aged 13-24 living with cancer through a national peer support network coupled with professional, educational and recreational programs. They are reliant on their own fundraising efforts and the generosity of individuals, the community and corporate partners as they receive no government funding.
20 local "hard" men arranged sponsorship to receive a half leg wax from Elite International’s students. The participants' came from the Police, Fire Service, Ambulance, Rugby and Football teams and other local businesses.
The participants' sponsorship, Bandanna sales, "Bucket Shaking" and an online fundraising site provided income for the day. The revenue generated from this event will have a significant impact on CanTeen's ability to provide courses and activities to their members.
