Elite's STAR Taster Courses and School Holiday Programme is a great way to learn about the professional side of the Beauty Industry. Secondary school aged students can see first-hand how we help Elite students to develop the right skills for an exciting career.

NZQA supports our STAR Holiday Programme, so students have fun and gain extra NZQA Level 2 credits after completing the programme!

Maintain personal presentation and a positive atitude in workplace involving customer contact.

Demonstrate knowledge of current fashion trends and history related to beauty therapy.

What to expect? 

Students develop an understanding of fundamental beauty therapy practices and necessary soft-skills required in a professional workplace, such as self-presentation, confidence and goal-setting. We help students see alternate study-pathways that can build their confidence and lead them onto higher-education at universities or a smoother transition into the Beauty Therapy, Retail or Customer Services Employment Industry.

One Day - STAR Taster Courses  

Our STAR Taster Courses gives students a full day of learning, packed with lots of hands-on practical fun! 

Beauty Therapy 
Teenage years can be challenging for those who don’t understand skincare and everyone wants healthy glowing skin. Students will get to practice facial routines and make a scrub that they can take home to begin their own personalised skincare regime. They also get to learn about nail care and have the opportunity to receive and perform both a manicure and pedicure.
Duration: 1 day
Cost: $60pp

Makeup Artistry
Students will be busy from start to finish learning all there is to know about applying flawless foundation, contouring and highlighting, correct blush placement, defined brows and creating the perfect pout. There are lots of tips and tricks for students who want to enhance their natural beauty and build confidence in how they present themselves. All of this takes place in a supportive & fun teaching environment where we recognise that true beauty comes from within.

Five day - STAR School Holiday Programme 

This school holiday programme gives students a whole week of campus-life experience at Elite, and a chance to explore the world of beauty!

Students gain an in-depth learning of beauty therapy and makeup artistry, along with other elements that contribute towards their future study-pathway and career options.

Our objective is to provide schools with more opportunities for students, this holiday programme exposes them to alternate pathways leading towards higher-education or a smoother transition into the workplace. Some students are more aligned to the beauty industry, others may need additional confidence and soft-skills before going out into the world. This programme can helps to develop these qualities.
