Frequently Asked Questions
New Zealand Certificate in Skin Care and Cosmetics (Level 3)
Applicants must be 16 or older when starting the programme and have completed NCEA Level 1 or equivalent secondary education from a recognised institution in New Zealand or overseas.
An interview may be required to assess eligibility and suitability for the programme.
A computer/laptop, microphone, and reliable internet connection are required for learning. Phones are not suitable devices for student learning.
You may be eligible for fees free study! Refer to the website www.feesfree.govt.nz to check if you are eligible, as course fees are paid up to a maximum of $12,000.
Tuition Fees: $9,708
Student Services Levy: $175*
*Also known as the CSSF or Compulsory Student Services fee. This fee covers the learning, employment, wellbeing and counselling support you might need during your time with us. This cost is paid together as part of your course fees. You can find out more information about what this covers here.

Course Related Costs:
Uniform cost: ranges from $140.50 to $380 depending on the uniform items selected. This will also vary depending on which course you are studying. Please speak to your Course Advisor for further information.
Device required: Laptop (cellphones aren't acceptable as a device).
These course related costs are not covered under any fees free funding schemes. You can apply for Course Related Costs (as a loan) via Studylink at the same time as your fees application.
Must be 18 years or older (or provide proof of living with a parent/guardian if under 18) and meet English language competency standards equivalent to IELTS Level 5.5 (Academic), with no band less than 5.

The New Zealand Government has imposed an international student levy on tuition and course related fees. From 1 January 2019 the levy will be 0.89% of the compulsory tuition fees.
This programme requires 37.5 learning hours per week, which includes approximately 23 contact hours and 14.5 non-contact hours.
You’ll be required to participate in hands-on training and industry-related activities.
